An Athame has been argued as corresponding between two elements, earth and air. Athames are used to help cast a protection circle around you during spell casting or meditation rituals. Athames are personal and should be picked out by the person using them. Athames can help mark the limits of your ritual work and is also used to draw the lines such as in the air or in salt, etc. Athames have been used for mixing purposes of ingredients and also help when charging ingredients or stones. Athames are personal and caution should be handled when all owing anyone to touch your Athame as it holds energy much like a stone. An Athame should never be used as a weapon and caution should be used when handling as it is sharp
